First, let’s talk about Mars, which is in the sign of Leo all month long. Leo represents the home-oriented part of your chart. Mars is the planet with a can do attitude. Mars is almost always willing to get in there and tackle a job. (more…)

The planets have a water thing going on these days. By a water thing, I mean there are planets in all three water signs: Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces. Cancer represents neighbors, siblings, and other relatives in your solar chart, Scorpio equals lovers and partners, and Pisces symbolizes friends and people you share interests with. (more…)
This month, Uranus stations in Aries in your solar 12th house. The 12th house represents the part of you that you try to hide from the world – but the world sees it anyway. Uranus as a planet represents technology, information, science, social media, and advances in society. In other words, there is something in your chart that is cautious about the modern world and all the fancy-dancy technology that we’re inundated with these days. You might even like to present yourself as a Luddite, someone who doesn’t want a smartphone or a Facebook account or whatever. (more…)
Your ruler Venus is on the move in June, zipping out of Gemini on the 2nd, dashing through Cancer, and then sliding into Leo on the 27th. Venus’s travels give us an overview of the month, with a tiny preview of July’s energies.
Venus in Gemini is concerned with your stuff, (more…)
May should so be your month, Taurus, and in some ways it is. The sun, a new moon solar eclipse, Mercury, Venus, Mars – boy that’s a lot of energy in your sign in May. If only it weren’t for the other astrological complications of the month, like Saturn in Scorpio.
Saturn represents the limits put on you by other people. These can be good, although that doesn’t necessarily mean enjoyable. For example, there’s a lot of energy in your sign right now, and when there’s a lot of energy in your sign it can represent attention to your health. Saturn in this case would be the designated nag in your life, the significant person who cares about your health. (more…)
The sun moves into your sign this month and so do Venus and Mars. By mid-month, it’s time to put yourself first! One area you may want to focus on is your health. Before planets move into your sign, they will be in Aries. Aries is your solar sign of chronic health conditions; those nagging discomforts that you really should pay attention to. (more…)
March starts out with planets in Pisces in your relatively happy solar 11th house of friendship. It ends with planets in your solar 12th house of hiding out and withdrawing.
The 12th house is also sometimes known as the house of affliction or troubles. The house of affliction may be a bit dramatic as far as describing what you’ll actually experience, but your take-away is that the first half of March is better for most of your pursuits.
If you’re a single Taurus, you can take advantage of the combination of Mercury and Venus in Pisces as the month opens by attending social events with an educational or intellectual theme. (more…)
February has conflicting vibes. Let’s start with Mars in Pisces. Pisces is your solar sign of hopes, wishes, and big desires. Mars is the planet of anger and frustration. Mars in Pisces feels easily thwarted and as though you’re not getting anything you want. (more…)
Happy New Year, Taurus. The month of January traditionally begins career season in the Taurus solar chart, as the sun moves into your career sign of Aquarius on the 19th. As 2013 opens, you have planetary permission to vigorously pursue your career goals from the get-go, as energetic Mars spends the entire month in Aquarius.
In fact, there are good days for your career and financial situation at the beginning of the month as Mars aligns with Jupiter in your money sector. Make no mistake, the end of the month, when the sun and Mercury also align with Jupiter, is also pretty darn good. (more…)
December is Taurus’s traditional month for a couple of different things. One is generously spending money and doling out cash for expenses. For many, that’s mostly because it’s the holiday season, but there could be other reasons as well, such as tax payments, insurance bills and so on. The other thing is reflecting on the past in order to make plans for the future.
These things seem like seasonal common sense to a good old-fashioned Taurus, but you’d be surprised at how many signs are not that big on common sense.
For some Taurus folks the turnover of cash, checks and credit card expenses will be greater than normal this year. That’s because there was a lunar eclipse in one of your financial houses late last month, and you could still be feeling the effects from it. The financial house that’s highlighted this month (the solar 8th) is one that has to do with the consequences of past actions, events or conditions.
For example, the 8th house symbolizes debt, expenses that arise from past purchases and borrowing. Pay attention to such matters this month and you could get a handle on understanding and forecasting your financial situation for the coming year.
If you don’t feel like focusing money this month, you can use the major sign energies of December (Sagittarius and Capricorn) for other things as well. For example, Sagittarius is an education sign and Capricorn represents your solar 9th house of education. You could use the energies to take a class or study something. Or you could travel. Education and travel are represented by the same symbols in astrology, as astrology apparently considers travel a learning experience!
The other major sign energy of the month comes from Scorpio, a holdover energy from last month. The sign of Scorpio in your chart often symbolizes a close relationship with one particular person. Usually that’s a spouse, but it could be a business partner, best friend or someone else that you live with or care for. Venus is in this part of your chart through the 15th and this is quite the romantic energy.
Even if you’re not in a relationship, it’s a romantic energy. One year, I had your kind of combined romantic and travel energy in December. I spent the month traveling through Europe, spending Christmas in Paris. Magical! Your idea of magic might be different, but it would be worth your while to pursue some!
Relationships and finances dominate the agenda in November. We’ll start with finances. There are three planets in Sagittarius this month (sun, Mercury and Mars) that tend to move about restlessly, looking for something to latch on to. Since they are moving through your solar 8th house of debts and repayments, they may desire to latch on to some sort of way to make you entirely debt free. Sagittarius likes to spend money but it hates to be obligated, and if these three planets can help you figure out how to get some financial freedom from burdensome obligations, you should take them up on it.
Put finances at the top of your list for November, because this is exactly the sort of important stuff that many of us tend to put at the bottoms of our lists. This financial stuff is especially important because there’s a lunar eclipse in your financial sign of Gemini this month, on the 28th. A lunar eclipse in a financial sign can indicate a financial loss and you don’t want to be burdened with extra payments if you’re facing a loss.
Sagittarius is also your sign that relates to insurance matters, and sometimes a lunar eclipse like this indicates loss or damage to possessions that requires an insurance claim. This isn’t necessarily catastrophic; it may just indicate that you will be filling out a lot of forms and dealing with a lot of paperwork.
The other possibility, more cheerful and more significant, is that you will undertake a complete financial overhaul as a result of this eclipse. You may also continue to work on a financial overhaul that you put in place some time ago. With Jupiter in your solar house of income these days, you may not so much be losing items as making decisions and choices. You may decide to switch financial advisers or pension plans, for example. Or you may be put in the position of choosing between jobs with different pay ranges and benefit packages.
Meanwhile, change is afoot in your relationship sector thanks to a solar eclipse in your relationship sign of Scorpio, coming right after Saturn parked his slow-moving butt in that sign. Scorpio as a sign likes to take everything to the extreme. If the Scorpio eclipse can arrange for a total change in one of your major relationships, it will do so. The change would be in form, and wouldn’t necessarily be bothersome. For example, you could go from dating to engaged.
Indeed, the relationship indicators are generally positive. Solar eclipses usually mark the start of a new era rather than a loss. During the latter half of the month, you’ll also have Mars in your love life sign, indicating that you have the ability to shape the outcome of events.
There’s a lot of action in your solar 7th house in October. The 7th house is the one that has to do with how other people look at you. The sign in your solar chart that represents your 7th house is Scorpio. Scorpio is a sign interested in the mysterious, the occult, conspiracies, power, in death, in what lies below the surface, the past, research, and fields like history and archeology. Scorpio is a curious, some might even say nosy, sign.
Scorpio can also be obsessive, focused, or fixated on an object of interest. The sun, Mercury, Mars, and Saturn spend time in Scorpio this month. The upshot is that you may encounter people who are trying to figure out what makes you tick, what lies below your surface. People may ask you about your past or be interested in the dramatic events of your life. You may receive a lot of attention from a particular person in a way that strikes you as unusual.
Alternatively, you may encounter people who who work in or are interested in Scorpionic subjects. Or you may become more interested in these types of subjects yourself. This energy quite strong until Thanksgiving. Because the slow-moving planet Saturn will be in Scorpio for the next 2 1/2 years approximately, this is also a long-term trend.
The month is not all about Scorpio, though. The month opens with Libra energy in your solar 6th house of work and skills. The new moon in Libra occurs on the 15th. Around this time, the energy is ripe for looking for a new job or developing new skills to apply on the job. Libra is a communicative, mentally-oriented and word-based air sign, so activities that increase your verbal skills or have to do with learning or reading work well with the energy. The 6th house also relates to health and exercise, so this is also a good time to begin an exercise regimen or other health-related routine.
The month’s full moon on October 29 is in your sign. Sometimes a full moon in a person’s own sign brings up concerns or emotional issues for you to address. This influence should fade quickly, though.
September seems to be a month of relating. It starts out with the sun and Mercury in your love life sector and then these two bodies move into the sign of Libra, which is all about relating. Libra happens to represent the job sector in your solar chart, so this influence often refers to relationships on the job, but you may feel the influence in other parts of your life too. The love life part of the month is at its peak around the new moon on the 15th of the month.
The Libra influence is at its peak toward the end of the month, around the time of the full moon (in Aries) on the 29th. By the end of the month, election season will be in full swing, and that sort of captures of the vibe of the time. This is the sort of election where people who aren’t passionately in favor of one candidate or another are ambivalent about both. They have to make a choice between things they’re not all that excited about. That’s exactly the feeling that the sign of Libra represents – having to make a decision when you don’t automatically feel passionate about one side or another. It’s the feeling of being torn by ambivalence because neither alternative seems all that perfect.
You may have that feeling in your love life, your work life, or both. You have options, but the options seem too similar to be truly satisfying. Nevertheless, you’ll need to make some choices, particularly with regard to work. Things might be a bit clearer on the love life front, because Mars is energizing your committed relationship sector. In this arena at least, you’re likely to know what you want, even if you’re not quite getting it right now.
Part of the discontent of the month is because Uranus and Pluto are all grumpy with each other again. Since Pluto is in your travel sector, this could potentially make any long-distance travel you engage in quite a hassle. You may want to think about limiting your travel to short trips closer to home for the month. In fact, the more time you can spend at home, the happier you’ll probably be. If you spend money on your home this month, you’ll probably be completely thrilled, although there may be a tendency to spend a bit too much.
I suppose another way to sum up the month would be to use the Libra word balance. Balancing the inner and the outer, your desires and reality, yourself and others, work and home, leading and following. The world is changing these days, and keeping yourself in balance is part of your sign’s natural way of dealing with it all.
Science tells us that summer officially ends in late September. Experience tells us that by the end of August, the summer vibe is gone and we’ve all got to get more productive. Astrologically, we note that with the entrance of the sun into Virgo, the harvest sign, which takes place this year on August 22. Before we all officially get back to school and work, August offers Taurus a few things to think about.
The first is a full moon in Aquarius on the 1st. Aquarius is your career sign, and this is the time of year when you are encouraged to think about wrapping up and completing tasks and ongoing projects in the professional realm.
The second thing to consider is Mercury, going direct on the 8th. The few days surrounding when Mercury goes direct is supposedly a time of computer and technology vulnerability, when information can get lost. There’s a lot of emphasis on other Mercury-ruled areas this month, too, like writing and language and communication. There are 5 influences that indicate that Taurus should take particular care with words with month.
Proofread anything you send out, craft your communication with care, and generally watch out for the kinds of common verbal mistakes that would otherwise escape your notice. This is particularly the case on the job, where you may have to do more communicating or writing than normal. Saturn in your job sign has been trying to get you to develop discipline on the job for a couple of years, and this is a good month to prove to him that his training has paid off.
Once the sun does move into Virgo on the 22nd, Mars quickly moves into Scorpio. These two signs are your love relationship signs. One relates to courtship and dating, the other to committed relationships. If you feel the need to travel, it seems as though a quick romantic getaway (don’t tell anyone else where you’re going!) fits the bill the best. Enjoy!
This last part of the month may feel a bit weird, too. Uranus in Aries and Pluto in Capricorn are at back at it again, re-engaging in their ongoing battle, which reaches an exact square next month. For Taurus, I suppose this could be described as a battle between thought and feeling. Pluto favors deep but rational thought, the kind you do at work or sitting in front of your computer. It’s kind of a brainy influence for your sign.
Uranus favors the subconscious mind, which feels and intuits far more quickly than the conscious one. Pluto is trying to force you to think rather than react. Reacting is faster and easier than thinking, and is based on a lifetime of habit, so this is quite a task. Still, you can get incredible insight and change in the area of your automatic functioning if you let this battle play out. Let your new experiences and learning permeate your thinking.
