On April 3, Venus moves into Gemini for a very long stay, until August. Venus usually stays in a sign for only a few weeks, but this year she wants to stay in Gemini for almost as long as is astronomically possible. In your solar chart, Gemini represents the 8th house, the sector of deepness, sex, debt, and sometimes shopping. Quite a combination! Venus represents beauty, so all kinds of possibilities are present for using this transit. (more…)

I’ve mentioned before that Pluto in Capricorn is transiting through your solar 3rd house of intellectual pursuits. Pluto wants you to pay attention to your thoughts rather than just your feelings. More precisely, Pluto would like you to understand that your thoughts create your feelings and that you can control your thoughts. I mention this because Pluto is your ruler and he’s moving real slow these days, trying to get your attention. He’ll come to a dead stop next month and then he’ll gear up for a mighty battle with Uranus in Aries in June. (more…)
Let’s start with Venus in your solar 6th house of work and health as of the 8th. The universe has been trying to nudge you toward changes in one or both of these areas, and it’s starting its 2012 campaign on that front this month. It’s not asking you to do much right now–just start off with something small. You can decide for yourself what an appropriate small thing would be, just as long as you get moving ever so slightly forward.
Now for some other highlights of the month. (more…)
Happy New Year, Scorpio. 2012 is a year with a number of important planetary changes, and we’ll mention a few of them here. Neptune will move out of the sign of Aquarius and into Pisces next month. Jupiter will move from Taurus to Gemini in June. And Saturn will move from Libra to your own sign of Scorpio in October.
The Neptune change is the one of the most importance this month, as inner planets begin drifting into and through the sign of Aquarius, which represents your solar 4th house of domestic life. (more…)
Your solar chart seems to want creature comforts around Christmas time this year, as Jupiter in Taurus stations on that day. Taurus is all about creature comforts, winter coziness, warm fires, a nice lover, good grog, and a bountiful feast. Indulge Jupiter to the extent you can and he will reward you.
Another type of creature may be on your mind this December, too. (more…)
November sees a new moon eclipse in Sagittarius on the 25th and next month sees a full moon eclipse in the opposite sign of Gemini. Eclipses don’t always show their effects at the time they occur, so you may have already felt effects from the Sagittarius eclipse and you may feel effects from the Gemini eclipse this month, especially around the time of the full moon in Taurus on the 10th. Or you may not feel any effects until next month or even beyond. If you feel effects around the time of the full moon this month, there’s a decent bet that they will in some way relate to your sex life, as that’s an area under planetary scrutiny in your chart this year and next. Scorpio is a fixed sign, obsessed in its own unique way with keeping things the same, not losing anything, having control, and maintaining stability and power. Like its solar opposite, the sign of Taurus, it is excellent at persistently pursuing its ends once it identifies them. In October, the skies are in a fixed sign sort of mood. They seek preservation.
What sort of thing might Scorpio be in the mood to preserve in October? Relationships for one thing. Jupiter is in your relationship sector, parking his butt in a fellow fixed sign. He thinks your life should revolve around relationships right now.
Venus, always a relationship planet, will start the month in Libra, weighing your relationships on its imaginary scale. Beginning on the 9th, it decides they’re worth keeping and starts wanting to invest in them. That makes the last three weeks of October excellent for doing things with other people.
There’s also a lot of sexual energy in your skies this month. In addition to sexual energy in your own sign and your relationship sector, Mars is in angular house for you this month. Mars is the planet of sexual energy and he’s right at the top of your chart in October.
Personal stability may be another obsession, as inner planets gather in your own sign. The month begins with the sun, Mercury, and Venus in Libra in your solar 12th house, which could make you feel a bit preoccupied or even lost. But once planets start moving into your sign on the 9th, there’s gathering energy in your sign, culminating with a new moon in Scorpio on the 26th (your annual birthday wish new moon).
You could also become obsessed with things like wireless devices, your neighborhood, or short trips. That’s because your obsessive ruler Pluto is in the part of your solar chart that rules these things, and inner planets in your sign will be checking in with him.Even preserving the state of your home could be a focus as Neptune gets ready to station next month.
Preserving your appearance could also dominate your thoughts during the second half of the month. This is sort of normal around the time of your birthday, as planets in your own sign check out your external appearance and seek to minimize the effects of growing older.
But wait there’s more! As if all that wasn’t enough, there’s also a lot of energy in your chart throughout October around the subject of pursuing goals in your career. If there’s anything the matter with your job situation, you have a fighting shot at addressing it this month. In short, you have a lot of different avenues to pursue in October. It’s your choice as to which and how many of them to focus on.
I’m thinking that Scorpio’s job this September is to just say no to existential angst and melodrama. Neptune’s in Aquarius again (angst), Mars moves into Leo (career melodrama) and inner planets move into Libra (existential contemplation). But there’s no use worrying or get upset about anything. There are many planets in fixed signs this month, which means that sturm und drang is not going to change anything.
Besides, Jupiter in Taurus is here to remind you that helpers are all around you. And Venus in Virgo is here to remind you that your friends love you.
Okay, it is true that during the second half of the month, the sun, Mercury, and Venus do enter your solar 12th house, where everything is indefinite and vague. These inner planets will urge you to go inward not outward. Consider the Libra time of year (which starts at the fall equinox on the 23rd), your annual low point of the year. It’s the pre-birthday time when the sun in your solar chart rests and gathers up its strength to be symbolically re-born on your birthday. That’s a good thing, if you understand it and know to anticipate it.
Now, about your career. The first 8 days of the month see Mercury in your career house. The last 2 weeks see Mars in your career house. That’s 3 weeks out of the month with career energy.
Your solar career sign is Leo. Like your own sign, it likes emotions. It also likes exaggeration, drama, a strong storyline, excitement, action, and sensationalism. It likes to make an impact. So what you need are some things to expend all that energy on without wasting your time spinning your wheels in a fixed sign rut.
My suggestion, and it’s just a suggestion, is that you get out and attend some events. Lots of events. As many as you can pack in.
This will allow you to mingle, to be seen (which is what Mars in Leo likes), to meet new people, enjoy their dramas without participating, be entertained, and do all this without having to share too much of yourself during your annual self-renewal period. Think of yourself as the audience, not the star, and most parts of your chart will be happy.
Jupiter in Taurus is still on the hunt for one good man or woman to share your life. If you’ve already got a mate, then it is searching alertly for your mate’s virtues and hopefully finding some. If it doesn’t find enough of them to suit its standards, it may urge you to make a break for it. Keep this in mind if you are feeling restless and dissatisfied. You don’t need perfection, just a good person.
It will be somewhat easier to make this distinction in August than it has been during the past few months. Neptune, the great fuzzy promoter of perfection, is sliding out of your romance house and back into the part of your chart that deals with your domestic life. He’ll stay in this sector until February 2012, and then he’ll move back into your romance house for what will seem like an eternity–approximately 14 years.
Do your non-fuzzy contemplating of romance during the next 6 months, while you’ve got the chance. In the simplest possible terms, Jupiter is trying to help you learn about people in general or about one particular person you need to relate to. The final result of this is supposed to be a better relationship or a firm foundation to embark upon one. (By the way, Neptune may have moved out of Pisces, but Chiron is still there, which can be helpful for people trying to heal fertility problems.)
Neptune in the solar 4th house, meanwhile, will be up to his previous tricks of trying to expand your domestic life beyond all reason. You should be used to this by now. As he makes his last pass through this part of your chart, simply ask yourself to what extent your domestic life needs to consume you. Push your way toward specifics as best you can, because it is time for vague Neptune to cough up the details regarding the purpose of his long journey through your sector of home, family, and private life.
You’ve also got the sun and Venus (and Mercury retrograde) in your career house for much of the month. The upshot of this is that you could find yourself turning career matters over and over in your mind. Even if this is unavoidable, keep in mind that with Venus in Leo until the 21st, the best strategy is probably to simply roll with the punches. Venus in Leo can also help you become an insider in your profession, arrange meetings or increase your reputation.
After the 21st, Venus and then the sun move into Virgo and your solar house of friendship. This is perhaps an easier placement for these inner planets and you may feel a decrease in tension toward the end of the month. Group activities, where you get everyone together, are nicely favored. There’s also a new moon in this sector on the 28th.
Right after this new moon, Venus and Jupiter make a very nice angle together. This very last portion of the month is a time to be with people, even if you’ve been a bit of a hermit lately under Saturn in Libra’s influence. If you’re single and looking this is an ideal time to meet people in a pleasant and painless way.
Earlier in the month, there’s a bit of an odd clash going on. Mars in Cancer spends the month hanging out in the part of your chart that deals with principles and ethics and so on. But Pluto, the planet of morality, is in the opposite sector. Pluto is actually trying to help you develop moral skills, excellence in morality, a deeper understanding of the moral forces that operate in daily life. For some reason, Mars in Cancer indicates there’s a clash between the deeper level of morality and your ordinary ethics and principles, especially during the second week of the month. Why this should be so I have no idea, but perhaps there are specific short-term circumstances you have to deal with.
Even when not directly clashing with Uranus, Saturn, or Pluto, Mars this month is rather tightly wound and you may have to periodically remind yourself to lighten up. When Mars clashes with Saturn for a couple of days during the week of the 21st, the two planets could get heavy ruminating on things that have already occurred–trying to ‘undo’ them in the parlance of the 12th house, where Saturn is busy examining your character flaws and Achilles’ heels. This is fine to do, but there’s no need to make this sort of exercise all-consuming. When Mars clashes with Uranus this month, you may have pet problems or a sudden urgent desire to get one.
Yes, I’m going to be talking about love again. Or maybe love and war because there’s a thin line between them, as any self-respecting Scorpio knows. First, let’s get a little business out of the way. Uranus in Aries stations this month, then goes retrograde on the 9th.
Uranus is currently in your solar sector of job and health. This may be where the war comes in, as planets are typically more intense when they station and switch direction. So, perhaps a little warfare on the job, or perhaps a little battle with a health condition. Or maybe not, depending on how drastically Uranus is affecting you these days. It’s a possibility. Another possibility, and not a bad one, is that you will simply become more vigorous or more outdoorsy in your exercise routine.
Back to love. Mars, a romantic player if there ever was one, is going to spend the whole month hanging out in your 8th house of sex, which is obviously an important dimension of love.
Mars loves a little drama, and Gemini doesn’t care if it has to make up the storyline to get something going. Mars also likes the chase, the pursuit. A little sexual drama, a bit of play-acting, some experimenting with roles and so on, could be just what you need to spice up the sex life this summer. Give it some thought. Mars may not be the tenderest of lovers, but he can certainly help bring the passion back.
Meanwhile, Jupiter is in your 7th house of committed relationships–for a year. If you need to get into a relationship first before you can think about spicing up your sex life, Jupiter is here to help. You’ve got to use the energy by actively seeking out relationships to get Jupiter to do much for you, but if you’re willing to do your part Jupiter can make the search easier than normal. I should point out that Jupiter and Gemini are both verbal influences, the kind that can help you craft that online dating profile.
I must also point out that Neptune is currently in your solar 5th house of dating and love affairs. That’s an exceptional degree of focus on love in your chart. I’m not guaranteeing anything you understand; I’m just pointing out the facts.
There’s also a potentially important solar eclipse in Cancer on the 1st. This is the last eclipse in the series affecting this sign. It relates to things like long-distance travel, education, and beliefs. If this eclipse is important in your life (won’t be in everyone’s), it would mark a significant new beginning in one of these areas.
Some of you may have already felt the effects of this eclipse a month ago and some will feel it a month from now. For some people, this could be a relocation eclipse, or signal a move to another country. For others, it will represent a return to one’s homeland for a short or long period of time.
But that’s not all. We are in the beginning of Leo season, which means career season for Scorpio. Mercury will be in Leo for much of the month. The sun will move into Leo on the 23rd, and Venus will on the 28th.
Leo is the sign of the actor (or one of the signs that fits the actor archetype), and that’s the archetype for the Scorpio approach to career. Scorpio is supposed to understand that a career simply represents a role that you play, not an element of life that you should mix up with your true self. Which is a good insight that some of the rest of us could stand to figure out. At any rate, it’s time for you to get out there on stage and play your part this month.
The big news of the month involves two eclipses, one on June 1 and the other on June 15. The one on the 1st is a new moon eclipse in Gemini, and the second is a full moon eclipse in Sagittarius. Eclipses are periodic exclamation points in the flow of life. The first one combines relationships and money in some exclamation point-y way. Perhaps a new financial relationship will begin.
The second eclipse brings your methods of handling money closer to the surface so that you can observe them. This could have something to do with your chart’s ongoing attempts to figure out your employment situation. Or maybe not. Full moon eclipses like to be contrary, and they tend to be surprising. Whatever you are expecting, the moon will probably try to take your financial situation in a different direction.
Meanwhile, Mars, the ‘I want it now’ planet traverses your relationship sector until the 20th. The implications of that may be fairly obvious. If they’re not, Jupiter in Taurus will attempt to make them obvious as soon as he moves into that sign on the 4th of June. For the moment, these two planets would like nothing better than to have you enact a systematic campaign to secure the relationship of your desires. They want both to bring you closer to someone and to close the deal on a relationship, make is permanent, stable, lasting. Jupiter will be in the relationship sector of your chart, by the way, for a full year, so don’t expect your relationship energy to end in June.
On the 20th, Mars moves into Gemini, which is where the bulk of the energy of the month is concentrated. This is energy you can use to move toward a point of getting a handle on your expenses. It might even be that you have to get a handle on your expenses. The 8th house, which is where Gemini is located in your solar chart, often has to do with obligations, especially financial obligations we take on so that we can purchase something. If the eclipse had you taking out a loan to buy new stuff (hence a new financial relationship with a lender), then the rest of the Gemini energy this month can help you prioritize the items in your new budget. Important stuff, that.
Last but maybe not least, this eclipse season can potentially bring a new part-time, commission-based, or independent contractor type job for some of you. If you have a chance at such a position this month, put on your best face and go for it.
Got a new job yet? If not, there’s still time. The sun has dropped out of Aries, your employment sign, but Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Uranus all open the month in that sign. If your job situation is just fine, then an alternate area of focus for the energy would be your health.
The 30th of April and the 1st of May are idea-generating days, as Mars and Jupiter connect. Mars also represents male energy, so a man may prove helpful to your goals at this time. Work your connections. During the period between May 9th and 16th, you have a prime opportunity to ask questions and get answers.
The time period right around the 11th is almost like a wishes come true period–Venus, Mercury, and Jupiter will all cluster together in late Aries. Tell the universe what you want. Don’t take no for an answer. What is needed is action, especially until the 11th.
You may not even be aware of how much fire energy you have at your disposal this month, so make an effort to consciously use it. To put things in context, Jupiter will leave Aries next month and enter the sign of Taurus. Much less fiery. In fact, by early June, the only planet left in Aries will be Uranus.
The time for lighting a fire under your butt is now, not later. Use it while you got it. The other news of the month is that the universe is taking aim against single Scorpios, trying to lure them out of singlehood and into relationship. This is symbolized by the massing of energy in Taurus during the second half of the month.
Taurus is your relationship sign, and Mars will be the most potent planet there after the 10th. Mars wants you to include other people in your space (which may mean your home), even if you don’t want to. The thing with Scorpio is that it is perhaps the most possessive of signs when it comes to relationships. It thinks of a relationship as something you have rather than something you are in.
When Mercury and Venus slide into Taurus on the 15th, they’ll take the traditional ‘have’ approach. But Mars, a more disruptive planet, almost forces you to realize you can’t have control in a relationship–you can only be included in it and include the partner in it. It’s all about connection.
Adventures in work and/or health–the Aries theme continues into April. The key to an adventure is you can’t know the outcome when you start. It requires a risk, trying something new. It might be doing something outdoors when you’re an indoors kind of a person. It might be accepting a job that requires travel, even though you don’t normally travel for work. It might mean becoming a commuter again if you’re used to working at home or switching to a home office for the first time. Even a very small effort toward adventure, change, newness will pay off now.
The other key to the month is definiteness and determination. Mars in Aries all month long is a like a super-shot of definitiveness and determination. It’s as though the universe is trying to shake every single person on the planet out of bed and get humanity to make up its mind and do something. If you can’t actually start a new job or a new project or a new health regime this month, at least do the stars the courtesy of educating yourself about one. Prepare for an adventure at the very least.
Furthermore, I should let you know that if your current job or routine is deadly dull and offers no scope for adventure, the universe may eventually start trying to nudge you away from it. Uranus, change-meister of the planetary pantheon, does not like to be bored. He’s parked himself in your work life sector for the next 7 years. He’ll start kicking old routines to the curb and dragging new technology into your life by force if you don’t keep him happy by incorporating innovation into your life voluntarily. Just a head’s up.
Finally, I have to mention Neptune moving into Pisces this month, on the 4th. This energy you can use on creative projects because Neptune in this part of your chart generally adores creative projects. He thinks they’re just fabulous and he’ll offer all kinds of encouragement to your personal muse. Sweet.
March has the potential to be an excellent month for Scorpio. As the month starts, planets are massed in Pisces, which is a happy sign for Scorpio. As the month progresses, they move into Aries. Scorpio has an affinity with Aries in the sense that Mars, the ruler of Aries, is also the ancient co-ruler of Scorpio. It is true that Aries does operate in some ways that are contrary to Scorpio; for one thing Aries is straightforward and disinclined to dig deep while Scorpio tunnels into the mysterious and the un-straightforward. On the other hand, Aries is a doing sign and so is Scorpio–i.e., they both like action. The big news of the month is that mighty outer planet Uranus moves into Aries on the 11th. Just as important, the heavy emphasis on the sign of Aries continues into April and even May.
So let’s break it down a bit. As the month begins, you can use the Pisces energy to do things that relate to your children, love affairs, creative projects, or good old-fashioned having fun. By the 9th, Mercury moves into Aries and it’s time to start thinking about what would be good for you in terms of job and/or health. What would be the right moves for you? Next, use Jupiter to figure out what resources you’ll need in these areas. Then you can use the combined energy of the sun and Uranus conjunct in Aries on the 21st to surge forward in action, doing the things you’ve decided you need to do. Cool!
