Last month there was a lunar eclipse in a part of your solar chart that relates to your social life and how you relate to society or to particular groups. Your involvement in something social may have come to an end, a friendship may have faded, or your circumstances may have changed in a way that means you are leaving a certain group behind. You may still be feeling the effects of that eclipse or may feel them more strongly in June.

Capricorn, the careful sign, has its hooves all over May. So does Taurus, the sign that represents your home and property sector. Capricorn is influential because Pluto in that sign is clashing with your ruler Uranus and because Saturn, Capricorn’s planetary representative, is sitting at the top of your solar chart. Taurus is influential because all kinds of planets are in it this month, including Mars, and there’s a solar eclipse in Taurus on the 9th. There’s also a lot of energy in Gemini, which is generally a good energy for your sign, and a lunar eclipse in Sagittarius on the 25th. A lot going on.

The happiest part of the Aquarian solar chart continues to come from Jupiter in Gemini in your solar 5th house. This placement (which lasts through most of June of this year) creates pleasure and accomplishment through self-expression. It works well with the strong energy in Aries this month, which relates to expression through words and communication.

Aries energy also relates to your physical and mental abilities and to short travel. If you want to take a quick jaunt somewhere, April is the month to pack your bags for a short spring getaway. (more…)

Saturn in your career house continues to be strong in March, and he travels in close angle with Pluto in a part of your chart that relates to behind the scenes activities. Someone may lend you a hand or give you an opportunity at work but want to keep it on the downlow. Pluto is the planet of elimination, so your opportunity may come through turnover, through someone leaving your work group or company.

Happy new year’s, Aquarius. Holey moley, there’s a lot of personal energy in your chart this month via the sun, Mercury, and Mars in your sign. At various points during the month, this personal energy will briefly clash with Saturn in Scorpio, which unaccountably wants you to focus on your responsibilities to others instead of on yourself.

Tis the happy season. What makes the Aquarian chart happy these days? With Jupiter in Gemini in your happiness sector right now, knowledge and information and short trips make your chart happy. Going to a lecture with a friend would fit the bill. Taking a short winter trip to somewhere sunny would do. Maybe buying a tech gadget or two to celebrate the electronics buying season would fill your stocking with joy.

If you are career-minded (and you should be these days), investing in some education to keep you up to date with the latest in business, technical or information trends in your field would be a good idea. Learning a new computer program, a new language or a new physical skill could also pay off. All things being equal, the more you invest in study and skill-building right now, the better the financial rewards in the future.

With Uranus stationing in Aries this month, the stars favor investing in the highest quality learning you can, as long as it is close by. Your best bet is to invest in education that is smart, short, near at hand, and technology oriented. With various astrological factors influencing your career and income sectors in the year to come, education now may lead to a complete change in career path in the next couple of years.

If you want to take a long holiday trip for pleasure, the time to do so is probably around the 13th, when there is a new moon in travel-loving Sagittarius. Just a warning that coming home around the 28th at the time of the full moon in Cancer might be a bit slow due to crowds and traffic and so on.

Uranus in Aries in the Aquarius solar chart likes to shake things up in your daily life, so you may also find that it is necessary or desirable to change some of your daily habits. Speaking of which, New Year’s resolution season comes a bit early this year, courtesy of Mars in Capricorn (the resolutions sign).

A good resolution for Aquarius would be to incorporate some sort of stretching or flexibility routine into your exercise program. With rigid Capricorn being your sign of long-term and chronic health conditions, you have to actively work to stay physically flexible.

This resolutions business also works with the general future orientation of December for Aquarius. Every year at this time, Aquarius is supposed to try to do better next year at some particular task.

On a more general level, December is traditionally friendship month for Aquarius. Your chart is not picky at this of year; it is happy to associate with anyone and everyone. New friends are fine to cultivate as long as you don’t forget old ones.

November is eclipse month. There’s a solar eclipse in Scorpio on the 13th and a lunar eclipse in Gemini on the 28th. The solar eclipse in Scorpio falls in the Aquarian 10th house. The 10th house deals with things such as career, authority figures, responsibilities, reputation, accomplishments and public standing. Saturn is also in this part of your chart for the next couple of years.

The combination of Saturn and a solar eclipse can play out in many ways, but I’ll give a couple of examples. You could get a new boss and have to work hard to understand his or her style. You could take on new responsibilities in your professional or public life. You could have to make decisions about which responsibilities to keep and which to cut back on. Combine the concepts for the 10th house with the idea of newness and decisions and you’ll have the general gist of things.

None of this seems to have an immediate effect on your paycheck, though, because Neptune is stuck barely moving in your income house this month. You may see some slight movement on the income front in the middle of the month as Neptune slowly lumbers his way into direct motion. In the long run, though, this new emphasis on Scorpio and the 10th house in your chart could pay off handsomely in a financial sense.

All of this heavy 10th house stuff is somewhat at odds with the other needs in your solar chart. Jupiter in Gemini and your ruler Uranus in Aries need fun and freedom to function effectively.

The lunar eclipse in Gemini may indicate that something you do for fun will need to leave your life for awhile as you adjust to the Scorpio influence. It is important not to abandon fun and self-expression and freedom entirely though, or you will find yourself out of balance over the next couple of years. The bottom line is that the 10th house vibe is likely to be quite significant over the next couple of years and some of it may be difficult. Pay particular attention to your psychological and long-term health needs as your new 10th house themes develop.

November in particular does offer some alternatives to all the heaviness of Scorpio, Saturn, and the 10th house in the form of planets of in Sagittarius. The mood lightens up when the sun enters this sign on the 21st. In keeping with Sagittarius and the Thanksgiving habit many Americans have of traveling at this time, you may hit the road near the end of the month.

Or you may go the opposite route and decide you want some personal and private time during the latter half of the month. In some form or fashion, it looks like you need some get-away time in November.

Your chart is now seeking to help you make your mark on the world. To understand what’s going on, let’s start with Saturn in Libra. Saturn’s been in Libra since October of 2009. One of Saturn’s jobs while in Libra was to help you figure out the reasons why you do things, to help you clarify your motives for the actions you take. Saturn is finishing up this job in October; he’ll be packed up and gone on the 6th.

Saturn’s concern with motives and reasons was supposed to help you seek an appropriate career path. He may also have encouraged you to learn some new career skill or take up a course of study or apply yourself to gaining knowledge in a particular field.

When Mars moved into Scorpio (your career sign) in late August, some of you began actively trying to locate a career-oriented position or to launch a career endeavor. By the 7th of this month, Mars will have moved on to Sagittarius, where he’s concerned with helping you make a splash in your new ventures. Mars in an impatient planet by nature, and right now he’s impatient to have you make your mark or carve out some new territory in the world.

Saturn, meanwhile, is moving into your career sign of Scorpio. Saturn in his new role in Scorpio will help you become more aware of the nature of your new career path as well as of the significance of what you do. He will also make you understand the difficulty of your path, because Saturn carts difficulty around with him wherever he goes. If the universe does not seem to be cooperating with the planetary timetable, then it will bring in the big guns, in the form of a new moon eclipse in Scorpio in November to goose the process along. However you look at it, life goals and your place in the world are on the agenda.

Your ruler Uranus in Aries will do his part by helping you clarify your intentions. This month (and beyond) Neptune will try to help you see that you are compensated fairly as you climb whatever mountain you have chosen. The sun and Mercury in Scorpio this month will also add their assistance to your cause until Thanksgiving time.

Over the next couple of years, Pluto in Capricorn will also work behind the scenes to try to make you efficient, perhaps even formulaic in your approach to your goals. Chiron will try to help you remember that you must also take care of yourself during this process: physically, mentally, spiritually. The new moon on the 15th will try to remind you of your ideals.

Heavy stuff! Don’t worry too much–the month will also be plenty sociable and next month will be too.

Well, it’s a good thing Aquarius typically tends to like the life of the mind, because the planets have certainly been delivering quite a bit of that over the last couple of years. September is not only no exception to that rule, but actually represents an increase in the trend. In September, the sun and Mercury travel through Virgo. Virgo is a mentally-oriented sign and a very particular, picky sign at that. In your solar chart, it represents your 8th house.

The 8th house represents, among other things, self-mastery and the acquisition of insight and knowledge into subjects that would otherwise be obscure. What this means in general is that one of the life tasks for any Aquarian is to use the mind, by focusing on particulars and tangible realities, to gain self-mastery and higher levels of knowledge into areas that aren’t necessarily obvious or easy to comprehend.

Meanwhile, Saturn has been in your solar 9th house for a couple of years. Saturn in the 9th house is equally mentally-oriented and knowledge-seeking, and Saturn is also a very particular planet, one that focuses on tangible realities. This is Saturn’s last month in this part of your chart and I suppose you could say he’s going out with a bang, gathering with the sun and Mercury in Libra to kiss himself goodbye. And I haven’t even mentioned your ruler Uranus in your solar third house, which concentrates on rational thinking and the use of language in your everyday life.

Bottom-line: September is a thinkaholic month, heavy on the details, particulars, tangibles, words, and self-discipline. Of course, you have to make this work for you in your own unique Aquarian way, whatever that might be. You might want to turn all this thinking toward your financial situation, which Virgo is interested in and so is Neptune in Pisces. Goodness knows your solar chart wants to address any issues you have in that arena.

You might employ your mental talents on the job, especially during the first week of the month, while you have good vibes there. You could also take a stab at learning something for fun, as Jupiter in Gemini in your house of recreation greatly enjoys things like taking classes in a foreign language or exploring some exotic new topic.

You could also perhaps benefit from thinking deeply about your past, as patterns from the past seem to be having a great effect on your daily life right now. And if you have some sort of a writing or speaking project (or some other Saturn-y knowledge or educational task) in process, give it your all to get it wrapped up by the end of month.

Your next Saturn cycle, which begins in October, will be more about goals, objectives, attainments, job and career, and plain old hard work. You’ll see the beginnings of that this month, as Mars introduces you to the Scorpio career vibe. One good thing is that when Saturn does leave Libra, travel may become a bit easier.

Last and definitely not least, Venus spends the last 3 weeks of the month in Leo. Other people are like a mirror to you now.

I think it’s time for an elegy to Saturn in Libra, a last call for this 2-year influence that will end in early October. Libra is a sign of relationships and it represents an area of your solar chart that deals with learning. So we get things like learning through relationships. Learning from others and teaching them as well. Learning with others.

You have 2 months to make use of this beneficial influence, and then Saturn will start testing all you’ve learned by moving into your career house. Enjoy Saturn in Libra while you can.

Not that you’ll suddenly stop learning in October! Your ruler Uranus is also ensconced in a learning-oriented sector of your chart and he ain’t going anywhere for years. It’s just that Uranus emphasizes learning through action, on your own, rather than with others.

Your learning can and probably should be applied to your financial affairs during the 2 1/2 years that Saturn will spend in Scorpio. One of the purposes of the Saturn transit is to work with Neptune in your income sector to increase your financial management abilities. In August and September specifically, you may see events occur that relate to this learning curve.

Pluto will cross swords with Uranus again, triggering perhaps surprising occurrences that will let you know exactly what you need to learn and why. There’s something you need to go through to achieve greater financial illumination.

The inner planets, meanwhile, are clustered on the opposite side of the zodiac from you. This is traditionally considered a bit of a difficult time of year, when the sun is farthest from you and things may look a bit dark. The sun itself starts the month in Leo, in the sector of your chart that emphasizes sharing and fairness. That means fairness to both yourself and others. If there are spoils to be divided this month, divide them equitably.

There’s also a full moon in your sign on the 1st, indicating that you may need to make some sort of a choice between competing alternatives, to close one door in order to enter another one. The new moon in Leo is on the 17th. One interesting use of this new moon would be to look specifically for a role model, someone you can learn from by imitating what they do to succeed.

Your ruler Uranus stations in Aries this month on the 13th. When a planet stations (basically changes direction from direct to retrograde or vice versa), it is often at its most powerful. Compared to some months in 2012, the astrology for May is relatively relaxed, friendly, easygoing. There is an eclipse on May 20, but it is a solar eclipse in Gemini, a sign friendly to yours. In fact, none of the outer planets are in an unfriendly position for your sign right now. Next month your sign’s ruler, Uranus, will get in a vicious dogfight with Pluto, but right now he’s just giving you permission to be active and to speak your mind.
