Free Leo Horoscope for August 2013

July 28, 2013 By: Victoria Bazeley Category: FREE MONTHLY HOROSCOPES, leo monthly horoscope

It’s birthday month for most Leos, and Leos tend to like birthday month a lot. The dog days of summer and high temperatures (in the Northern Hemisphere) tend to suit Leo just fine. This year, as usual, the sun is in your sign until August 22nd. Mercury is in your sign from the 8th to the 23rd, the most active period of the month for you. This is when everyone wants to talk to you, pay attention to you, give stuff to you, and give you plenty of the feedback that your sign needs to function at its best. The new moon in your sign is on the 6th; that’s when you get to make your birthday wish for the coming 12 months. Enjoy.

When the energy shifts to Virgo in the 3rd week of the month, the planets become less interested in you and more in Virgo-type intellectual activities. Virgo is the kind of sign that likes crossword puzzles, word games, and mysteries. As the summer winds down, it’s a good time to indulge in some detective fiction or whatever similar brainy fun catches your interest.

Virgo is also a sign that likes to do things in a very particular way. It is one of your financial signs and it governs how your sign spends money. It indicates a very discriminating taste in material objects. In general, it will be a good time for you to go shopping for tangible items.

Virgo is also a very task-oriented sign and offers a good chance to get assignments done. If you are involved in selling or business deals, Virgo energy can also be helpful for you.

The other major sign of the month is Cancer, with Mercury, Mars, and Jupiter in Cancer during August. The signs indicate how planets do things when they travel through it. The planets themselves indicate what sort of thing is being done. Mercury rules things like roads and road trips, commuting, and other short travel. Cancer does its travel in a sideways, non-direct kind of a way. It hides and darts, rather than striding confidently toward its goal.

The upshot of this is that as the month opens, it might be good for you to get off the beaten path, wander around some back roads and just get away from it all for a little bit.

Now, how about your year ahead? There will be eclipses in the signs of Aries, Scorpio, Libra, and Taurus in the coming 12 months. Aries and Libra represent intellectual areas of your solar chart, and eclipses in these parts of your chart tend to be mild and not especially specific in their effects. They can indicate questioning and pondering the meaning of events or parts of your life, but not usually dramatic events. These eclipses will occur in October 2013 and April 2014.

Uranus is also in Aries, and Uranus here likes to read, understand, and gain knowledge. A typical Uranus manifestation would be someone lending you a book that changes your life by giving you a perspective on some aspect of yourself that you never understood before.

The eclipses in Scorpio and Taurus may be a bit more impactful. They occur in November 2013 and April 2014. Scorpio is your solar sign of home and family, and in addition to the eclipse in Scorpio, you will feel the effects of Saturn remaining in this sign for the next 12 months. The two influences indicate restructuring of your home life in some manner. Sometimes this is quite literal, as in rebuilding your home or doing a lot of structural or improvement work on your home.

The combination of Saturn and the eclipse also indicates you’ll need to make choices (especially around the November 2013 time frame). Sometimes these choices are quite basic but important nonetheless. For example, you may need to make conscious choices about what and when you eat and develop a routine that supports your health. That’s what Saturn is in this part of your chart for, to help you develop routines and conscious choices.

Taurus is your career sign, and the eclipse in April 2014 can indicate taking on new and unfamiliar roles in your career. The eclipse periods (fall 2013 and spring 2014) are likely to be the times when the most change occurs. This is not necessarily due to the eclipses themselves but because Pluto will also be quite active at these times, battling Uranus in Aries. Pluto is in your sector of job and health and you may see quite a bit of activity in these areas of your life. For example, there may be a lot of turnover in your co-workers, as your employer makes changes in your workplace.

Jupiter will be in the sign of Cancer until mid-July of next year, when it will move into your own sign. Cancer is a very traditional sign. Jupiter is interested in models of knowledge and understanding, in higher education and learning. In your solar chart, Jupiter likes to think about things on a very big scale (how does the universe work?) and it likes to look at traditional answers and sources of knowledge to answer its questions.

Jupiter, Saturn, and Neptune will also form a trio in water signs during the coming 12 months. In essence, this means these 3 planets will be in a good mood for most of the year, which will help make the astrological weather milder than it might otherwise be.

When it moves into your own sign before your next birthday, Jupiter will most likely give you a lot of energy and capacity to do a lot of work or participate in vigorous recreational activities. If you are a little low on physical energy this year, understand that this is cyclical and you’ll come roaring back when Jupiter enters your sign.
