The sun and Mercury inhabit your solar 4th house this month, where they try to tune you into your subconscious mind, your intuition, your emotional needs, your family and your children. The energy is all about the people and things closest to you. You’ll probably feel this vibe most strongly a bit before the sun moves into Leo, around the 18th and 19th, when there’s a new moon in sensitive Cancer.
First priority is to listen to your inner guidance and to put your insights into words, so they don’t get lost in the vague feelings-land that Cancer moons are prone to.
Mercury is in Leo all month and actually goes retrograde a bit before the new moon, on the 14th. This is a good thing, although you’ve probably heard Mercury retrograde is a terrible thing. It’s a good thing because Mercury retrograde really fine tunes that inner guidance and makes it more precise and more vivid. Uranus also stations in the part of your chart that represents the subconscious mind on the 13th, making mid-month a really potent time for insight. Before mid-month, it’s a bit more difficult to get clarity, as Pluto will still be fighting with Uranus.
It’s as though your internal GPS needs to be re-set in July. Pluto represents the guidance you get from others, conventional wisdom so to speak. The Uranus station indicates that conventional wisdom needs to be shaken up and rethought. It’s not that you’ll throw away everything you’ve already learned or thought or believe; indeed, you’ll still end up relying on the tried and true ways of doing things. You’ll just be better positioned to understand how the generalities apply to you specifically.
Meanwhile, Mars finally reaches the sign of Libra this month, on the 3rd. It’s taken forever to get there because Mars has been stuck in Virgo for 8 months. Mars in Libra is really good for making an effort to listen to other people, especially on the job.
It’s a yin-yang month in that way. First you listen carefully to your own instincts and then you make an equal effort to really tune in and hear what other people are trying to say and where they are coming from. Mars in Libra might ordinarily be tempted to interrupt, but steadying Saturn is also in Libra these days, and he insists that whoever is speaking be allowed to have their say.
The other major energy of the month centers around the sign of Gemini, with Venus and Jupiter transiting this Mercury-ruled sign. Gemini greatly enjoys variety, change, short trips, the city life, hobnobbing and socializing and hitting the town for a little R&R. Make sure you get enough stimulation this month, as Gemini hates to be bored.
