Happy Birthday Cancer! Your annual birthday wish new moon takes place on the night of the 18th. Make a wish and have faith. The new moon is when you are most responsive to psychic forces (whatever that term may mean to you) and is therefore a very potent time. When the sun’s in your sign, the way in which you look at things makes all the difference.
As for the month, the sun is in your sign until the 22nd, but the universe’s mind is in Leo long before then. Leo likes drama, heroism, courtly elegance, courtesy, and doing things with a flourish. Mercury spends all month in Leo, going retrograde on the 14th. The purpose of Mercury retrograde in Leo for you is to help you develop concrete knowledge of your financial situation instead of just dramatic fantasies.
Pay attention! It’s the type of month when bills or even income could be easily overlooked unless you keep yourself organized. The overall mood is cheerful and even a bit permissive and indulgent, though. There’s a lot of energy in Gemini still (Venus and Jupiter) and when combined with Leo, this sign is not up for a hassle or for denying you what you want in the moment.
Gemini is also a social, chatty sign, that likes to talk, write, phone, email, text, and otherwise communicate. It’s a busy sign, but you may actually finds yourself less horrendously busy as Mars moves out of Virgo on the 3rd and into more balanced Libra.
Libra is the sign that represents the people closest to you, loved ones and family members. Saturn has been in this sign for almost 2 years, working in his diligent way to strengthen your bonds with these people, even if his manner of strengthening bonds sometimes involves bringing up issues with them.
Now for a bit of career news. Uranus stations in your career sector on the 13th. He’s been having a fight with Pluto for awhile this year, and at mid-month, he finally decides to back off a bit. What this has meant in your life depends on your particular circumstances. Whatever it has meant, you may notice a bit of an abrupt change around the time he stations. Now let’s take a look at the Cancer year ahead. First, the eclipses. The current series in Gemini and Sagittarius has taken aim at your subconscious mind and at your job situation. There are two more eclipse in this series, both lunar or emotional eclipses. Something emotional may come to light in November of 2012 regarding your job or health. Something emotional may come to light in May of 2013 relating to your perceptions of someone else.
The November eclipse is most likely to affect your co-workers and working environment. You’ll want to keep the lines of communication open. Sometimes lunar eclipses in the job sector mean layoffs in the company, which inevitably sets off a storm of gossip and speculation. For you, knowledge will be power.
A new eclipse series also begins in Taurus and Scorpio this year. The new series highlights solar eclipses or new beginnings. The areas of your chart that are affected are friendships and love life or children if you have them. A new beginning may occur in the love life/children sector in November of this year. A new beginning is slotted for your friendship sector in May of 2013.
For everyone, the next 12 months will be heavy on the importance of communication, thanks to Jupiter in Gemini. Gemini is the sign charged with ferrying information from one person to others. Where communication will be most important will depend on your own circumstances. In your chart, Gemini represents the nebulous 12th house, which means that the influence could affect basically any area of your life. Your job is just to be aware of the importance of information.
The second major area of focus is your love life and social life as I mentioned above when talking about eclipses. Saturn will move into your love and social life sector in October of 2012. It may take more effort to maintain either your social life or your love life or both.
Pluto and Uranus will continue to fight, off and on, over your most significant relationship and your career. You’ll be most affected by this if you were born at the beginning of July (through about the 4th) or the end of June. The rest of you can breathe a sigh of relief, because you’ll be dodging that bullet!
