Pisces energy gets all up in your face in March. The sun opens the month in the sign, and Neptune and Chiron have settled in and made themselves at home there. Mercury goes retrograde in Aries at mid-month and slides all the way back into Pisces on the 23rd, where he stays until April 16. Add it all up and it’s a lot of Pisces influence. The Mercury retro phenomenon mushes up emotion and communication until you know neither what you’re feeling nor what you’re saying.
This makes March not such a great month for talking, but a pretty decent month for listening and pausing. The idea is to avoid moving forward so that you can take a bit of time to sort things through, assimilate, organize both thoughts and feelings and come out in mid-April with a clearer understanding of everything. Well, maybe not everything, but at least the things that affect your daily life and your sense of the future.
Mars in Virgo will help with the future portion of the equation because he’s busy mulling things over on your behalf in your solar 9th house of plans and preparations. One thing to be aware of as you let your brain engage in its necessary pondering this month is that not everything you hear is necessarily true. Neptune in Pisces is a notorious liar and Mercury in Pisces is not the most truthful of influences either. Just because it’s on the news, the Internet, or your Facebook feed doesn’t mean it bears even a remote resemblance to the facts.
Since March is heavy on pausing, assimilating and not believing everything you hear, why not cozy up at home this month, rather than venturing excessively into the craziness of the world? Venus, the sun, Uranus, and a new moon in the solar sector of your emotional and literal home base indicate that some quality homebody time could very useful, maybe even essential.
Another good influence this month comes via a grand trine in earth signs, involving Jupiter, Venus, Mars, and Pluto. Key dates are the 13th through the 15th. Don’t expect anything spectacular to happen on these dates of its own accord. Grand trines don’t work that way. They don’t announce themselves. They’re too lazy for that.
What they’re good for is making normally difficult things easy, because trines love easy. Say you have to do something super-scary like public speaking. Schedule it for a trine time and it will go surprisingly smoothly and well. Because trines simply cannot be bothered by a challenge. If there’s something in your life where you are just not up for a challenge–try to arrange to do it around the middle of the month. May not solve all your problems, but it couldn’t hurt.
